Sonton's Oishii Hokkaido Koshi-an is a smooth red bean paste made exclusively from azuki beans grown in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, selected for their rich sweetness, dense texture, and even cooking quality. The beans are slowly kettle-cooked to develop an elegant, refined sweetness and a moist, smooth consistency reminiscent of high-end Japanese confectionery. The paste also retains the natural, deep color and sheen characteristic of quality azuki beans.
